G2's captain, Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski, spoke about his relationship with the team's coach, Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas. Pogorzelski described him as a good colleague and added that there are no conflicts between them. He shared this in an interview with eScoreNews.
"I would call us good colleagues. Maybe friends, but I don't have friends in esports. My friends are in my hometown, and we are just good colleagues. I enjoy working with him; we have fun, we laugh, and there are no conflicts between us. It's nice to work together."
The Polish esports player also reflected on the last few years of his career as a professional Counter-Strike player. Snax highlighted his success in training young players.
"I wouldn’t say it was the low point of my career. After MOUZ, I decided I wanted to give it another shot with Polish players, maybe teach some of the younger ones. Perhaps people see it that way, but for me, it wasn’t exactly like that. I taught young players a few things, and later you could see, for the first time since VP, a Polish team at a Major. Those guys played with me, they learned, and it was nice to see a Polish team again.
So, I did contribute something to the Polish scene. Some people might call it a personal low. Yes, perhaps I could agree, but I felt I shared my experience with other guys in Poland. Now they are joining other good teams, like ENCE. And I'm happy about that – even if I wasn't winning for a long time, it was just a different path."
Currently, Pogorzelski's team is competing in the IEM Cologne 2024 Championship in Germany. G2 have won three consecutive matches in the lower bracket of the group stage (against Team Spirit, Astralis, and paiN) and have advanced to the final stage of the tournament, which begins on 16 August.
