Scandal at Skyesports Championship 2024

After a problematic first day marred by technical issues and delays, the $300,000 Skyesports Championship 2024 Semi-LAN tournament has gradually resolved its initial problems, leading to a smoother second day.

Players from the invited teams, Aurora and BetBoom, were highly critical of the event. They voiced their dissatisfaction openly, with numerous posts on various social media platforms highlighting the poor conditions for players and practice sessions during the early stages.

The situation worsened when Aurora players released a video showing a pig in one of the less developed areas of Mumbai, India. This footage, first shared on their personal Telegram channels and later on Twitter by CIS CS2 NEWS, drew significant criticism from the Indian community. Many accused the video of being a deliberate attempt to tarnish the country’s image.

In a recent twist, CIS CS2 NEWS reported that Aurora player r3salt was receiving numerous calls from Indian fans in response to his comments about the tournament. Shortly after, SouL team content writer Sid challenged the authenticity of this information by posting True Caller verification screenshots that revealed r3salt’s call log was filled with calls from Zomato, a popular Indian food delivery service.

In response to Sid’s post, Skyesports CEO assured the community that the organisation would investigate the allegations and take appropriate action. Meanwhile, CIS CS2 NEWS removed its previous post and issued a clarification and apology for being misled by r3salt.
