RachelR: the path from hard workers to riches

Oleg Tyurkaev, better known by his pseudonym "RachelR," was born on August 24, 1994, in the city of Miass, Chelyabinsk Oblast. At the dawn of his journey, he conducted live streams on his Twitch channel and created helpful tutorial videos on the game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. He enjoys occasionally conducting experiments in his favorite game and setting himself challenging goals, such as playing 10 games for 10 days straight or completing a marathon of 42 matches without breaks. The most significant event in his career is the establishment of the esports team Insilio.

Before discovering his calling, Oleg was passionate about soccer and worked at "Svyaznoy," where he sold phones. He started playing CS:GO in April 2015 and simultaneously began searching for various training methods to improve his gameplay. Intrigued by these methods, he began writing scripts for his videos and providing voiceovers.

In 2017, Oleg was introduced to esports, studying maps and grenade layouts. Around the same time, he attended the PGL Major Krakow 2017, where the Gambit team secured a spectacular victory. It was then that he developed a strong desire to form a team. Unfortunately, his initial attempt at playing professionally was unsuccessful: his teammates were far superior in terms of gameplay, and Oleg himself did not reach that level. However, this setback sparked a new goal for him – to become stronger.

On December 9, 2019, RachelR released a video on his channel announcing the ambitious project Insilio. The essence of the project was to advance to the professional scene from scratch with the team's efforts and to showcase the process. The team was named after a European KZ clan from Counter-Strike 1.6 that ceased active existence. Several people were selected for the team from over 700 applications, including Oleg himself. Despite facing numerous challenges, the roster changed multiple times, and there were ups and downs. On September 16, 2021, RachelR decided to leave the lineup as he was not ready to work at such a level and did not want to hold back the potential of the players. From that moment on, he took on the role of CEO of the team.

After achieving numerous accomplishments, the team finally started to thrive. However, the events of February 24 dealt a blow to the Russian-Ukrainian lineup. The team found itself without half of its roster, coach, and sponsor. The members parted ways amicably, and a heart-wrenching video about the team's knockout was released on the channel. Many fans couldn't hold back their tears.

Despite their efforts to remain resilient, the team regroups with a renewed lineup. Through setbacks, sweat, and tears, they achieve one of their main goals – appearing on HLTV (the largest news portal and forum covering esports news, tournaments, and statistics for Counter-Strike 2) exactly 1168 days later.

In the fall of 2023, the team had a falling out with Oleg due to game results and the lack of desire from the players to progress further. A video explaining the entire situation was released on the channel, revealing the players' appalling attitude toward the team's CEO. As a result, half of the team left the project, and the role of CEO shifted to the team's elder member, Nikita "DaDte" Ziganshin, while RachelR now assumes the role of Insilio's owner. In this situation, the community chose to support Oleg. He, in turn, didn't give up, filling the roster with motivated players ready to strive for victory. The team continues to develop rapidly and is considered professional.

Speaking of building a powerful team, one cannot ignore its influence on the well-known esports platform FACEIT. It saw a surge in boosters, fake accounts, and toxic players, leading to a rapid decline in online integrity. Oleg released a video compiling statistics with platform users, which, to say the least, was surprising. The community's response didn't take long: FACEIT started combating new accounts and initiated a wave of bans. RachelR dismissed it all as a mere show from the platform. Eventually, FACEIT ID was introduced, requiring players to verify their accounts by submitting a selfie with their passports. Oleg managed to reach out to the company. However, unresolved issues remain, which FACEIT may address soon.
