PaiN wins IEM Rio South American qualifier and qualifies for tournament

Team paiN clinched victory in the IEM Rio South American Closed Qualifier, earning a spot at the prestigious tournament scheduled from October 7-13. This achievement was driven by the exceptional performance and tenacity of the team, led by Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt.

PaiN's journey to the grand finals began with a hard-fought win against the RED Canids, led by the renowned Marcelo "coldzera." This victory propelled them to the semifinals, where they faced Imperial. The semifinal was intensely competitive and concluded in overtime on the Inferno map, but paiN emerged victorious, sending Imperial to the lower bracket. Imperial subsequently defeated MIBR to advance to the grand finals.

In the final, paiN triumphed over Inferno with a score of 13-8, thanks to a stellar performance by Lucas "lux" Meneghini. On the second map, Anubis, Lucas "nqz" Soares and João "snowzin" Vinicius led the team to a 2-0 victory. This win secured paiN's place in the IEM Rio tournament.

The roster for IEM Rio currently includes renowned teams such as Natus Vincere, MOUZ, Vitality, G2, FaZe, Virtus.pro, among others. The competition for the remaining four spots is anticipated to be fierce: one spot each will be determined in the closed qualifiers in Asia and North America, with two spots up for grabs in Europe.

PaiN's success in the qualifiers was a result of excellent team coordination and tactical prowess. This victory not only motivates the team but also heightens anticipation for the upcoming tournament, where paiN will compete at home against the world's top teams for a share of the $250,000 prize pool.
