Former player of the American team M80, Mario "malbsMd" Samayo, has officially joined G2's Counter-Strike 2 roster. The announcement was made on social media X.
Samayo replaces Nemanja "nexa" Isaković, whom the European club benched in mid-June. According to reports, G2 may have paid a seven-figure sum for the transfer of the 21-year-old esports player from Guatemala.
malbsMd played for M80 since July last year, previously competing with LOS, TeamOne, and 00Nation. In tournaments during 2024, he achieved an average rating of 1.32 - the best result in his former team.
Earlier, insider and scout Alexey "OverDrive" Biryukov reported that G2 could make two changes to its CS2 lineup. It's worth noting that the team finished last at the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024 and won IEM Dallas 2024.
