Official: BLAST will host the first major of 2025 in the USA

Tournament operator BLAST will host the first Counter-Strike 2 Major in 2025 – it will take place in Austin, Texas, in June next year. The announcement was made during the broadcast of the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024.

The championship will be held at the multipurpose Moody Center stadium, accommodating over 15,000 spectators. The tournament's prize pool will remain unchanged at $1.25 million.

The BLAST Austin Major 2025 will mark the first Counter-Strike Major in North America since the ELEAGUE Major Boston 2018. Before this, the region also hosted the MLG Columbus Major 2016 and the ELEAGUE Major Atlanta 2017.

The upcoming tournament in Austin will be BLAST's second Major event for CS – previously, the tournament operator hosted the BLAST Paris Major 2023, which concluded in May last year with a victory for Team Vitality.
