NiKo: "I don't think I played that well in CS2. It's nice to get back into shape"

G2 player Nikola "NiKo" Kovač shared his emotions about his performance at the Esports World Cup 2024 in Riyadh. In a post-match interview, NiKo evaluated his form during the tournament.

"It's amazing. It's been a long time since I played this well. I don't think I've played this well in CS2 before. It's nice to be back in form. I don’t want to jinx it, but I felt good at the start of the season, during the bootcamp. I hope I can maintain this form."

Kovač also addressed the question whether he considers his teammate Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov to be the best player in the world. In particular, NiKo compared m0NESY to Danil "donk" Kryshkovets.

"For me, he is the best. He has everything needed. He just seems much more versatile compared to, for example, donk. For me, he is the best player in the world."

Kovač's team has become the first finalist of the Esports World Cup 2024. In the second round of the playoffs, G2 defeated Virtus.pro 2-0. G2 will face the winner of the NAVI vs. MOUZ match in the grand final of the tournament.
