Former Evil Geniuses CS2 player Sanjar "neaLaN" Ishkakov discussed his salary during his time with the club. He shared this information in an interview with Tatiana "Sindi" Gracheva.
"Toward the end [of my time with K23], my salary was $1.5k. In principle, I didn't mind because I'm from Kazakhstan, they provided me with food and housing, I just needed to play. I remember Daur's [AdreN] advice that whenever you negotiate with an organization, you should inflate your asking price by two or three times so that you can negotiate down to the middle. So, in my negotiations with EG, I asked for $10k, and they replied, 'Okay, $12k.' Later, I thought I could have asked for more, but I decided it wasn't a big deal because I didn't join for the salary, but to compete at Tier-1. Still, it was nice."
NeaLaN represented EG from August 2022 to July 2023. According to Ishkakov, his salary terms remained unchanged during this period, despite the team not achieving high results in tournaments.
