Nafany: “We withdrew because we don’t see any option to play normally here”
BetBoom Team captain Vladislav "nafany" Gorshkov commented on the team's decision to withdraw from the Skyesports Championship 2024 for Counter-Strike 2 after the tournament had started. On his personal Telegram channel, he stated that the decision was made by the team due to the poor conditions at the event.
"The tournament is being run terribly. We withdrew because we don't see any way to play properly here, as there are simply no conditions. Our next [tournament] is IEM Cologne 2024. There are no practice rooms here. How are we going to play IEM Cologne 2024 without practice rooms? *** knows. The tournament organiser promised one thing but delivered another. We decided to withdraw from [Skyesports Championship 2024].
In short, it was a tough decision, but we made it. Thank you very much to our organisation for supporting us, understanding the whole **** of the situation, and saying, 'Guys, you’re right.'"
Gorshkov also briefly summarised the conditions at the Skyesports Championship 2024:
"No internet
No electricity
No practice rooms
No backups
Shall we play?"
Previously, representatives from various teams attending the Skyesports Championship 2024 complained about poor furniture and weak computers in the practice areas. Additionally, technical issues at the venue after the first matches led to subsequent games being postponed. Ultimately, the BetBoom Team withdrew from the competition.
