Nafany: "There are people in eSports who know how to win"

Vladislav "nafany" Gorshkov, captain of BetBoom Team, shared his thoughts on the current NAVI roster in Counter-Strike 2. In an interview with Cybersport.ru, Gorshkov used the Ukrainian club as an example to explain the formula needed to assemble a successful team.

"I believed in them from the start. My mindset is such that I trust there are people in esports who know how to win, how to build a team, and how things should work. I think B1ad3 is one of those people. No offence to the previous NAVI roster, but if we look at where B1ad3, who built his team from scratch, is now compared to electroNic, Perfecto, or the resting s1mple... Out of that entire roster, the coach is currently the most successful. I believe even the former NAVI players would agree with me that B1ad3 has an immense impact and knows what he's doing.

So, I think that in an ideal world, if an organisation wants to build a tier-1 team, the first step is to establish the organisation itself and ensure it's ready to acquire top-tier players. The second step is having a coach who knows how to win and has experience. Then, you need core players— a sniper, a star player, and a captain. After that, you can add two more players based on what qualities the team lacks.

It seems NAVI followed this approach. If we look closely, we can see: there's the organisation, there's the coach, there's an experienced captain, there's a star player in the form of jL... Or let's even consider b1t as the star player. And there's the sniper, w0nderful. Added to this is iM— from what I've heard in the team speak, he communicates a lot of information that could otherwise get lost, making him very useful. And there's jL, who boosts morale— that's also crucial, and his skill level is close to that of a core player. If we compare this to FaZe, we see a similar system. The only difference is that their captain is more significant than the coach."

It's worth noting that BetBoom Team has already concluded its run at the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade Season 2 in Serbia. The team lost two consecutive matches in the group stage and was eliminated from the competition, finishing in last place.
