Nafany discussed the changes in the BetBoom Team after RMR.
"After RMR, I talked with Sasha, the CEO of BB Team, and we concluded that we needed to move away from the setup where I was calling the shots.
Let me break it down. Previously, I was the one dictating how things should go, delegating some tasks to Slava Innershain. Overall, we worked as a team, but the final decision rested with me.
The new setup was supposed to have a coach who would be responsible for the process and ultimately the results, while I would support him with my experience and opinions. The responsibility for the team's composition would also lie with him.
Unfortunately, Slava wouldn't cope well with the second option due to his personality and the players' temperaments. However, this doesn't reflect poorly on him as a specialist or as a person. Personally, I found playing with him very beneficial.
In the end, Railway took his place, who initially joined us in January as a second coach. After RMR, we finished the tournaments we had already accepted invites for. If it wasn't clear during RMR whether there would be player replacements, afterwards, I believe everyone felt it was necessary (in any case, it was no longer my decision, but Railway's).
Now, about Danik Danistzz. A brief flashback to 2023 might shed some light on this replacement. I'll be frank, after Sydney, I tried to find someone to replace Danik on our team. Not because he's a weak player, but because, in my opinion, he couldn't find his game in our lineup.
Due to my own foolishness and emotionality, I put additional pressure on him, and Danik, due to his inexperience and this pressure, didn't understand/listen/got lost. In the end, the first option with the replacement didn't sit well with the team, and the second option declined to join us after tests. After that move, we played BetBoom Dacha, where the minimum goal was achieved, and then we went on vacation.
Now, back to March. With Railway at the helm, we needed a replacement. After discussing with the team, he concluded that Danik needed to be replaced. There weren't any standout options on the market, except for the obvious choice of Kirill 'Magnojez' Rodnov. After playing with him for a few days of testing, he joined us, which I'm very happy about," wrote the captain of the BB Team.
Also, Vladislav "nafany" Gorshkov responded to some opinions on this matter.
About player positions:
"When I was assembling this lineup, I initially wanted to give up some of my positions on certain maps in favor of younger players and transition to support roles. I've had this desire since the moment Interz was removed from Cloud9. However, neither in C9 nor in the previous BetBoom Team lineup was I able to do this for various reasons.
Now, Kirill has joined us; he's a skilled player who understands what's expected of him, and I can trust him with crucial roles. Examples of maps where this has happened include Mirage, Overpass, and Nuke."
