The Brazilian team is on the verge of finalizing the acquisition of the W7M player.
According to reports from Dust2 Brasil, Legacy is nearing the signing of Guilherme "saadzin" Pacheco from W7M. The 19-year-old is set to fill the gap left by the departure of two-time Major winner Marcelo "coldzera" David.
Legacy and W7M have been in negotiations for several weeks now, with the transfer expected to be completed once saadzin secures a US visa to join the rest of the team in Texas. In the meantime, he will remain an active member of W7M's roster, and Legacy will continue to utilize Jake "Stewie2K" Yip as a stand-in.
Stewie2K, a former Liquid and Cloud9 player, joined Legacy temporarily at the end of March during what he described as "a transitional period to the USA" for the team. He maintained an average rating of 0.95 as Legacy finished third in the North American Closed Qualifier for the Esports World Cup. Additionally, he has been competing with the team in ESEA Advanced, where Legacy leads the league with a flawless 8-0 record.
saadzin, who is set to become Legacy's primary AWPer, was promoted from W7M's academy squad in July 2023. He boasts an average rating of 1.13 with the team, which is currently ranked 15th in Brazil.
Both organizations have confirmed to Dust2 Brasil that a deal is close to being finalized. "We are awaiting the completion of bureaucratic procedures to make this negotiation a reality," stated Legacy. "Stewie2K will continue to assist us with our upcoming commitments."
saadzin's signing will leave Legacy with the following roster:
