Former Legacy player Marcelo "coldzera" David found himself in the mindset of a legal scandal regarding his joining RED Canids. The former club of the Brazilian player intends to sue him due to an existing contract, as reported in Dust2 Brasil.
According to the published information, David's contract with Legacy, as claimed by the club, is valid until December 9, 2024. Despite this, the esports athlete left the team and signed a contract with RED Canids.
Legacy has already approached tournament organizers with a demand to prevent coldzera from being included in the roster of other teams until the case is heard in a US court or an agreement is reached between the parties. The club also notified Valve, the publisher of Counter-Strike 2, about the incident.
In response to inquiries for comments from David, journalists, and tournament organizers received a response from the player's lawyer, stating that he has no obligations to Legacy. However, RED Canids is not mentioned in this statement.
Recall that on April 26, coldzera was officially introduced as part of RED Canids. He has already made his debut for the new team, playing against BESTIA in the ESL Challenger League Season 47.
