Kassad: "faveN didn't do his role very well"

BLEED team coach Aleksandar "kassad" Trifunovic revealed the reasons behind their roster change. In an interview with HLTV, the Serbian esports athlete explained that Josef "faveN" Baumann struggled with his role in the team, prompting BLEED to take advantage of G2's reshuffle to strengthen their roster.

"To be honest, there are several reasons for this. Firstly, we didn't plan any changes during this break. The plan was not to make any adjustments during this period. But we realised that nexa became available on the market. I spoke with hampus about it, and we understood that we needed a support player instead of faveN. I have to say this publicly: faveN didn't perform well in this role, not because he's a bad player; he's very good, very hard-working. It was very difficult for me to make this decision because he sacrificed more than anyone else in the team, and I had to take this step for the greater good, because this role simply didn't suit him. And I think he couldn't handle it properly.

"He will be good in any other team where he doesn't have this role, and he will perform much better because he is a good player. It was very hard for me to remove him. But nexa became available on the market, as I said, and we had to discuss this option.

There were three options for the support role: jks, nexa, and bringing back VLDN from the bench. After discussions and all the events that have happened in the last few weeks, we chose nexa."

Kassad also discussed how Nemanja "nexa" Isakovic reacted to his exclusion from G2's lineup, adding that nexa's statistics over the past months don't reflect his actual skill level.

"Visually, he was fine. From what I understand, he may have even felt some relief from what happened at G2. I'm not aware of what happened behind the scenes in the team, but I know he wasn't the happiest there. The thing is, nexa's statistics over the last six months don't reflect his true potential. If you put him in a different environment, in different situations, and give him a bit more freedom, I think he can return to his normal level, which is much higher than what he showed in the last 6-7 months with G2.

He wants to get back to work, and that was enough for me when I talked to him. I've known him personally for a long time, and I know exactly what he is capable of and what he is not. So in that sense, it was an easy choice for me."

It's worth noting that Isakovic joined G2 in November last year and was benched on June 17, with G2 bringing in Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa from M80 in his place. He officially moved to BLEED on July 3, taking faveN's spot.
