Professional CS2 player Justinas "jL" Lekavicius stated that winning the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 shortly after joining Natus Vincere came as a surprise to him. In an interview with Esports.gg, he also declared that the team is determined to win ESL Pro League Season 19.
Lekavicius admitted that he had expected to win a Major no sooner than three to four years.
"No, I didn't [expect to win a Major so quickly]. I thought I would become a champion no earlier than three to four years. I didn't expect to win the very next Major after leaving Apeks. My dream came true, and I'm incredibly happy about it."
According to jL, the NAVI members didn't take an extended break after winning the Major and quickly returned to training.
"There was no decline [after winning the Major], none, we bounced back. We had a week off, and since then, the team hasn't stopped training. Last year, we finished second, losing to MOUZ in the grand final with a score of 0:3. This time, it won't happen. I look forward to the opportunity to play in front of the fans on the EPL stage in Malta."
The international lineup of Natus Vincere became the champion of PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 nine months after its formation. In the grand final, the team defeated FaZe Clan with a score of 2:1.
On May 1, Natus Vincere will begin their performance at ESL Pro League Season 19 with a match against FlyQuest. At the championship, 32 teams compete for a prize pool of $750,000.
