Captain of Virtus.pro CS2 team, Jame Ali, explained that the team needs to prepare more maps to feel more confident during veto stages against any opponent. He shared his thoughts following the BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2024.
"Let me outline our plans for the near future. We're going to reset a bit. Following that, we'll immediately head into a boot camp and then onto the Esports World Cup. The schedule there is very tight. During any free time, we'll be training. Right now, the main focus is to gather strength, establish a working process, and address the gaps that prevent us from reaching finals and consistently placing in the top 5.
The maps we're working on seem to be improving, as usual. However, there's not enough time to train all maps to the required level. Moreover, it often depends on the opponent. Some opponents are simply uncomfortable for us map-wise, and we struggle with map pools where we're unsure what to pick, feeling very limited right now. We need to expand our map pool so that we can be versatile and feel comfortable on different maps against anyone," said Jame.
BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2024 concluded on June 16. Virtus.pro finished the championship in 3rd-4th place, losing to Natus Vincere 0-2 in the semifinals.
