IDISBALANCE: "I think Team Spirit is just running out of steam"
9 Pandas sniper Artem "iDISBALANCE" Egorov shared his thoughts on the performance of Team Spirit and Virtus.pro at the recent IEM Cologne 2024, where both teams finished in 13th-16th place, in an interview with Cybersport.ru.
"These are just my guesses, but it seems to me that Team Spirit simply ran out of steam. I don’t know if they had a break or not, but if not, then the guys just burned out. They were showing incredible results, which requires very hard training, a lot of time and effort to stay at the top. After a series of good results, a slump often follows—this happens to many teams. I hope they get through this phase and return to playing their best CS.
Also, other teams have started preparing more for them. They began to respect Team Spirit, realised it was a very good team, and started studying their game more closely.
As for VP, there have been significant changes. electroNic came in with his vision of the game, and the team is restructuring. Andrey "Xoma" joined, and now he, along with Jame and electroNic, need to find solutions and develop their style of play. It hasn’t worked out yet, but we’ll see what happens next."
IEM Cologne 2024 took place from August 7 to 18 in Cologne, Germany, with 24 teams participating. The total prize pool for the event was $1 million. In the final, Vitality defeated NAVI. Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
