Coach Dmitry "hooch" Bogdanov has confirmed his departure from the American esports club Cloud9. He worked with the team for two months, assisting in the selection of players for the new Counter-Strike 2 roster.
"Yes, it's true. I have completed my duties, and our cooperation with Cloud9 has come to an end. I am very grateful to them for the opportunity. I wish them success with their new roster. I hope I was part of a good project that will place Cloud9 on the tier-1 stage in Counter-Strike."
In a comment to the Esports.ru portal, the Russian esports player also shared his expectations for the upcoming Esports World Cup 2024, which starts next week.
"I would call The MongolZ [a dark horse]. They have shown themselves well in recent tournaments, but they are still not considered true giants. I think such tournaments are significant for them because there is not as much pressure as in major tournaments. Plus, they are playing in their region and could perform well.
I would also add Sashi to the list of 'dark horses'; the team performed quite well in recent online tournaments. Regarding JijieHao, I don't think they can contend for high places. They can beat teams like M80 and MIBR, but not much more should be expected from them.
In the final, I think Team Spirit and FaZe will play."
The Esports World Cup 2024 will take place from 17th to 21st July in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. Fifteen teams will compete for a prize pool of one million dollars.
