huNter-: “We felt much less pressure because we played with a replacement”

G2 team member Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač shared a few words about his team's victory at the recent championship in Dallas. In an interview with bo3.gg portal, the Bosnian esports athlete discussed which factors, in his opinion, played a crucial role in G2's success at this tournament.

"We felt much less pressure because we played with a substitute. That was the main reason why we first made it through the group stage. And then in the playoffs, with the constant support from the audience, it motivated us, and of course, it was tough for our opponents to play.

It's still too early to say why we won and whether we can continue winning in the future. The main thing is to win today. We'll try to enjoy the moment, and then we'll see.

It felt like a dream to all of us when we lifted that trophy. And it truly felt like a dream - to compete here with Stewie2K, to take the 1st place, and defeat the top 3 teams in the world (Vitality, MOUZ, and FaZe). It's just a crazy story, and I'm very happy to be a part of it."

Recall that IEM Dallas 2024 took place from May 27th to June 2nd in Dallas, USA. The total prize pool of the event was $250,000. In the final, G2 defeated Vitality with a score of 2:1, earning the main cash prize of the event - $100,000, as well as a spot at IEM Cologne 2024.
