HLTV updated the rating formula in CS2

The portal HLTV.org has updated its ranking system, making several adjustments to the formula for calculating player statistics. In this new version of the rating (2.1), average values have been revised using data from the first year of Counter-Strike 2. The other changes include:

- The average rating has returned to a baseline of 1.00 for tournaments;

- All five sub-ratings now carry equal weight, following the excessive importance of survival, impact, and KAST in CS2;

- Survival in lost rounds (saves) now provides less reward;

- Assists now grant more reward than in the previous version of the rating (2.0).

According to HLTV's official announcement, these changes aligned the ranking system with the MR12 format and the adjusted assist threshold of 25 damage (rather than 40, as in CS:GO).

HLTV also provided examples of how these updates have impacted the statistics of professional players, including some members of Virtus.pro. For instance, Dzhami "Jame" Ali's rating has dropped from 1.22 to 1.11.
