Following today's update, a new line related to the "Danger Zone" mode has appeared in the Counter-Strike 2 files, as reported by data miner Maksim "Gabe Follower" Poletaev on his Telegram channel. He noted that this line might have been added to the game's code by mistake.
"For some reason, a new survival (danger zone) line called 'Survival.CreepDamage' appeared. This might be a compiler error."
Earlier, English-speaking commentator Neo "Ne0kai" Cain shared that Valve has no plans to bring the "Danger Zone" mode from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to Counter-Strike 2. According to him, the mode lacked popularity among players, so developers did not prioritise it.
Recently, Gabe Follower also found lines in the Counter-Strike 2 code related to a new system focused on predicting incoming and outgoing damage. Poletaev suggested that these changes aim to improve hit registration in the game.
