In today's update, the developers of Counter-Strike 2 have added several hidden features to the game code intended for tracking in-game events. This information was revealed by data miner Maksim "Gabe Follower" Poletaev on his Telegram channel.
The quote is presented with the original spelling and punctuation of the source:
"The developers have added new trackers for in-game events:
- Player who was injured / player who attacked / how far the bullet travelled before hitting the player / how many surfaces were penetrated / was the shooter in no-scope? / was the shooter jumping?"
Poletaev speculated that the aforementioned changes are necessary for upgrading the anti-cheat system in Counter-Strike 2. The developers themselves did not mention this in the patch notes.
A couple of weeks ago, Gabe Follower also discovered a new line of code in the game client files related to completing missions in operations. However, no further details about a new operation in CS2 have been released yet.
