Organisers of IEM Cologne 2024 for CS2, in collaboration with ESIC, conducted doping tests on the winners of the group stage of the tournament. The representatives of G2 Esports and Natus Vincere shared photos of the testing on social media.
G2, who emerged victorious in Group B, accompanied their photo with the caption: "We dismantled the lower bracket so thoroughly that we had to undergo doping control." In addition to the members of G2, the players of Natus Vincere, who won the final in Group A, were also tested. This is a standard procedure at major CS tournaments.
IEM Cologne 2024 is taking place from August 7 to 18 in Germany. The teams are competing for a prize pool of one million dollars. The champion will also earn spots at IEM Katowice 2025 and BLAST Premier: World Final 2024.
