FalleN: "I want to leave my mark on FURIA over the next year"

Captain of FURIA, Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, no longer intends to make statements about plans to end his career and will spend the next year with FURIA. The 32-year-old Brazilian esports athlete shared this in an interview with HLTV.

According to FalleN, he learned a lesson after a series of shortsighted announcements about intending to stop competing.

"In the end, I learned a few lessons when trying to find the best way to balance my personal life and professional career. I've been playing for many years, and each year brings different challenges. One of the lessons from that time was that there's no point in planning or talking about whether you're going to end your career.

When it's time, it will happen. I've been with FURIA for a year now, originally planning to play here for two years, so I'm already halfway there. And since I'm starting a new cycle here now, having a bit more freedom in decision-making, a bit more leadership responsibility, I want to make my mark here over the next year."

The decision to continue or end Toledo's career will not be made until the expiration of his contract with FURIA.

"Over time, as my contract approaches its end, we'll be able to analyze whether it makes sense for me to continue playing, if we're still achieving the desired results, and also align it with some personal decisions I need to make regarding my family. So it's still too early to think about these things, but people can be sure that I'm 100% focused on doing a great job with FURIA next year."

Recall that FalleN was recently appointed captain of FURIA, replacing Andre "arT" Piovezan, who led the Brazilian club for the past six years.
