Dupreeh: "Astralis tried to bring in cadiaN instead of br0"

Falcons player Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen shared his thoughts with HLTV.org regarding the situation surrounding the replacement of Alexander "br0" Bro with Casper "cadiaN" Møller in the Astralis roster for the upcoming BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 in Counter-Strike 2.

"I didn’t put in much effort to fully understand the situation or learn all the details, but from what I've heard, Astralis attempted to bring in cadiaN as a replacement for br0, using the clause for adding a substitute in an emergency. I remember FaZe in their time, and I also think there was a recent situation with HEROIC, where they were forced to play with a coach, which speaks for itself.

Somehow, Astralis managed to avoid that and play with cadiaN instead of using a coach, claiming that br0 was ill or something like that. If it turns out that they reached this decision by lying about the player’s illness, then I certainly disagree with that. I think it’s a poor decision, especially considering my experience with Astralis when we had players who took medical leave due to stress and burnout.

If it turns out to be true, then I do think it’s a bad decision. But I leave all decisions to BLAST and those responsible for making the right conclusions, and I’ll see what happens in the end. But for now, based on the rumours I’ve heard, it doesn’t seem like a very good move."

It is worth noting that the captains of nearly all the teams participating in the tournament intentionally skipped the media day for the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 due to the aforementioned substitution, which may violate the event regulations. Only Leonid "chopper" Vishnyakov and cadiaN himself did not support the boycott.
