Degster: "I'm missing a tournament because of a visa"

Abdul "degster" Gasanov, a member of HEROIC, explained the situation that caused him to miss the BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024 championship in Copenhagen. According to him, due to new regulations, he has been unable to obtain a visa for almost two months. The Russian esports player shared this on his personal Telegram channel.

"For the first time in my career, I'm missing a tournament because of a visa issue. I did everything as quickly as possible on my end, flying out from Abu Dhabi, cancelling my holiday, and applying for the visa straight away. However, I was told that new rules now require approval from six countries instead of one to get the visa.

I've been waiting for confirmation from one country for about a week. Yesterday, I spent eight hours at the visa centre from opening until evening with my suitcase (ready to leave immediately), but nothing happened—the centre closed, and I went home.

I've been trying to get the visa for more than 50 days now, and unfortunately, there's nothing more I can do. As I mentioned, I've done everything to get it as early as possible. There are such moments in life; while my team plays, I'm training and waiting for the moment when I can finally show my level of CS to my team. I've prepared a lot for these tournaments and just want the opportunity to compete with others. I hope this situation will be resolved soon. Thanks again for the support."

It is worth noting that, in Gasanov's absence, the team's coach, Eetu "sAw" Saha, is playing in the BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024.
