CS2 has improved jumping mechanics
Update Notes for Counter-Strike 2 – 29 October 2024
JUMPING
- Improved jump height consistency to within 0.015625 units, regardless of distance from the centre of the map. Previously, in CS:GO and CS2, jump height could vary by 0.03125 units depending on distance from the map's centre.
- Enhanced stability when landing on surfaces near maximum jump height.
- Jump height remains dependent on stamina. With the command `cl_showpos 2`, stamina is now displayed upon take-off and is colour-coded based on the potential jump height.
- Fixed an issue where `cl_showpos` occasionally displayed incorrect jump height when jumping from sloped surfaces.
- Resolved certain cases where players were pushed back mid-jump as the server failed to validate the jump.
MISCELLANEOUS
- Adjusted weapon pickup logic near the C4 bomb, prioritising defusal over accidental weapon pickup.
- Enemies now consistently show a flinch animation when hit through two hitboxes of equal priority (e.g., hitting both right and left legs).
- Explosions from frag grenades within smoke now clear the accumulated smoke effect from players in the blast radius.
- General stability improvements.

- Fixed a gap in the map geometry.
