Clipping Bug Allows players to see through walls
Another day, another bug was discovered. This time, players have found a glitch that allows them to potentially exploit the in-game camera to see through walls.
While not as severe as being able to see player outlines across the map, this issue can still be highly impactful. When executed correctly, it becomes a devastating and repeatable glitch that can significantly affect the outcome of a matchmaking game.
The glitch is remarkably easy to perform. By binding any key to "+attack;-attack;slot5" in an autoexec file, players can activate the bug. To make it work, the player must have an item in slot 5, which is typically reserved for the C4. Therefore, this exploit can only be used on the Terrorist side.
As demonstrated in the clip below, players can spot enemies in a sniper's nest on Mirage without ever revealing their player model, granting them crucial information and an unfair advantage.
The exploit was first highlighted by a user named Ville on Platform X, who also provided instructions on how to replicate the glitch.
This issue bears resemblance to a bug earlier this year when `sv_cheats` could be enabled on secured servers. FACEIT issued two-year bans to players who used that exploit, and given the similar competitive integrity concerns with this glitch, they may well impose similar bans for those who exploit it in matches.
