CadiaN becomes new captain of Astralis
The Danish esports organisation Astralis has announced a roster change for their Counter-Strike 2 team. The official announcement was made on the organisation's X page.
Kasper "cadiaN" Møller has joined the team, having been on the bench at Liquid for the past three months. The Dane takes over from Alexander "br0" Bro, who has been with Astralis since March of this year. Bro has been moved to the bench. Møller will assume the role of team captain, previously held by Nikolaj "device" Rydt. However, device will retain his role as the team's sniper.
It’s worth noting that Astralis struggled in the current season of the ESL Pro League, winning only one out of four group stage matches and finishing in 21-28th place. Previously, the team placed 9-12th at IEM Cologne 2024, and made it to the top 6 at both BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024 and BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024.
Currently, Astralis is ranked 13th in the world rankings for Counter-Strike 2 according to HLTV.org. The team has received a direct invitation to the RMR tournament before the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024.
The current roster of Astralis is:
- Nikolaj "device" Rydt
- Viktor "Staehr" Shter
- Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard
- Martin "stavn" Lund
- Kasper "cadiaN" Møller
- Kasper "ruggah" Djø (Coach)
- Alexander "alexsomfan" Nielsen (Assistant Coach)
