Akros anti-reader has blocked Joel

In the CCT Season 2 Europe Series 7 match between B8 and BC.GAME, a shocking development occurred when Joel "joel" Holmlund was blocked by the Akros anti-cheat system before the match began. This news became public on the players' social media channels after the first map.

Following this incident, BC.GAME was disqualified from the tournament, and the future of both the team and the player remains uncertain. The community received numerous reactions from players who expressed approval of the action taken against the player.

In September 2023, joel had already been indefinitely banned from all ESIC events starting from August 30, 2023, due to betting violations committed while playing for GODSENT. Although the charges were dropped on November 30, 2023, the ban was extended until January 6, 2024.

Player Reactions:

- "Just in time to update anti-cheat. Just a shame that he was banned before the match even started."

   — npl, captain of B8

- "The truth will come out eventually, that’s for sure. But it’s unfair to the teams joel played for in the CCT, as they were denied a chance to make the playoffs. Every one of those teams deserved it more than a cheater."

   — headtr1ck, AWPer for B8

- "We just need to wait for the rest of the players like him to be blocked, and that’s it."

   — stadodo, KOI player

- "Won our game against BC 2-0. We were unaware of the situation before the game, but were very surprised when we saw the news after the first map. Joel messed up, and I hope this ends his career."

   — cptkurtka023, B8 player

- "What a surprise! I never expected this. Unbelievable? Perhaps a lawyer will save the day! He’s a big talent and deserves another chance, though he hasn’t had many. I wouldn’t be surprised to see FaZe sign him soon."

   — H4RR3, former player for Dignitas

- "I should have leaked all the match-fixing evidence I received about joel, but I knew nothing would come of it since ESIC had that evidence too and did nothing."

   — Lobanjica, streamer

Their next tournament was supposed to be the European Pro League Season 19: Division 2 playoffs, but they were disqualified due to joel’s block. Verdant will take their place.

Their second tournament was United21 Season 18, from which they were also disqualified for the same reason. Dynamo Eclot, who lost their playoff match, will replace them.
