AdreN: "G2 needs to look for a good and reputable cap"

Kazakhstani cybersportsman Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev has shared his thoughts on the exclusion of Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen from the active G2 roster for Counter-Strike 2. On his personal Telegram channel, AdreN evaluated the Danish player's leadership qualities and added that G2 will need to spend significantly to acquire a new captain.

"My opinion on HooXi. Overall, as a captain, he’s decent—motivates the team and has a vision for the game. However, in today’s environment, it’s not enough to just call well; you also need to hit your shots, at least a little. Unfortunately, his movement and aim are severely lacking for the tier-1 level. You can only get away with that if you’re winning and constantly in the finals, like karrigan or apEX.

G2 needs to find a good and respected captain, and we know that’s impossible without significant investment. Either you spend a lot of money on a captain, or you keep HooXi and bring in a young talent. Otherwise, it’s game over. The third option is to find a talented young captain."

Previously, former BetBoom Team coach Vyacheslav "innersh1ne" Britvin also shared his thoughts on the matter. In particular, innersh1ne stated on Telegram that following the decision to kick HooXi, he isn’t confident that the team will have a successful upcoming season in Counter-Strike 2.
