1WIN coach: “If you don’t take care of your body, then by the age of 30 you will no longer be able to perform”

1WIN's Counter-Strike 2 team coach, Aset "Solaar" Sembiev, discussed how he maintains discipline within his team in an interview released on the club's YouTube channel. Sembiev explained that he sets a good example for his players, emphasizing the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle.

"First and foremost, there's a daily routine – wake-up times, walks. Secondly, the most important thing is to set a personal example [in maintaining discipline]. It's difficult to demand things from the guys if you don't do them yourself. For instance, I ask them to dedicate time to sports – I'm all for any kind of physical activity in this regard. I insist that there should be no binge-drinking, parties, or clubbing – I don't drink. Having a beer on weekends is okay.

In this regard, I try not to demand, but to explain to the guys why it's important and necessary. Those who have known me for a long time understand that these are all positive things in the long run. Take, for example, Jyo. He's 29, has been involved in sports his whole life, doesn't smoke or drink, and we see that at 29 he has a rating of 1.15.

But how many players do we know who have ended their careers by 29 or even earlier? Why? Primarily, I believe, because they drank, smoked, and didn't sleep at night. The body wears out. If you don't take care of it, don't develop it, don't maintain some level of physical activity, then by the age of 30 you won't be able to compete.

These are basic things, but few pay attention to them. As far as I know, all tier-1 teams pay great attention to this. Psychology, sleep regimen, nutrition, and sports – these are the current realities of top professional teams."

It's worth noting that Solaar took over the 1WIN roster in April of this year. Before this role, the Kazakh esports player worked with K23. Currently, the 1WIN team ranks 57th in the world rankings according to HLTV.org.
