Tournament operator GRID has announced a new Counter-Strike 2 championship as part of the Thunderpick World Championship series. The competition will feature six online events, a closed qualifier, and a LAN final.
The total prize pool for the championship will be $1 million. In each regional tournament, 16 teams will compete for one spot in the closed qualifier, where they will be joined by 10 invited teams.
The closed qualifier will determine four spots for the LAN final. Additionally, four teams will receive direct invitations to the championship based on Valve's ranking.
Each qualifier will have a prize pool of $25,000, with $850,000 allocated for the LAN final. The schedule for the events is as follows:
- Europe Series 1: 30 April – 5 May
- North America Series 1: 11 – 16 May
- South America Series 1: 2 – 7 July
- South America Series 2: 15 – 20 July
- North America Series 2: 23 – 28 July
- Europe Series 2: 12 – 17 August
- Closed Qualifier: 9 – 11 September
- LAN Final: 15 – 19 October
